Description

 We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of Virginia’s legal procedures and court systems. 

Requirements

  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and subpoenas specific to Virginia courts.
  • Manage case calendars, ensuring all deadlines and filings comply with Virginia’s procedural rules.
  • Conduct legal research and compile relevant Virginia statutes, case law, and regulations.
  • Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, and discovery materials.
  • Liaise with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel to facilitate case development and information gathering.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and coordinating logistics for Virginia state and federal courts.

     

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, LexisNexis preferred.
  • Experience using case management software to organize and track litigation matters (PracticeMaster preferred).
  • Familiarity with e-filing systems specific to Virginia state and federal courts.
  • Strong understanding of court procedures and filing requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent educational background preferred.
